Our rule: safety first
DarkDeck is built safety first. Where safety and a nice feature disagree, safety wins. The things we do today:
- Strict page rules (a content security policy) so a page can only load what it should. No third-party scripts, no ads, no trackers.
- No cookies for visitors, and no passwords to steal, because there are no visitor accounts yet.
- Uploads are checked: only audio and video types are accepted, web pages and programs are refused, and files are served so a browser cannot run them as a page.
- Limits on how much one person can upload and how often, so nobody can flood the service.
- Anonymous daily totals only. No addresses, no names, nothing that follows you from day to day.
No website can promise to be unbreakable, and we do not pretend to. What we promise is to take it seriously, fix problems quickly, and tell you plainly.
Found a problem?
If you think you have found a security problem on DarkDeck, please tell us on the About page (Feedback section) and start the message with the word SECURITY. Please do not test it against other people's uploads or data, and do not share the details publicly until it is fixed. We will thank you.
